Before opening Caring Transitions, Betty had transitioned from working in a doctor’s office for over 10 years to a stay-at-home mother to her two young sons. When her youngest started school, she was ready to take on something new and that’s when she and Jose, a lawyer in Boston, found Caring Transitions – and what the company means for seniors and their loved ones – and thought it would be a perfect family business. So the couple teamed up with their daughters, Kaitlyn and Corrina, in starting Caring Transitions of Greater Boston. Although the entire ownership team is cross-trained to work in any facet of the business, Kaitlyn will handle senior relocation services and move management while Corrina will focus on estate sales and online auctions.
“We have been in the situation that many of our clients are facing,” noted Betty. “When my mom passed away a few years ago after a long illness, we were living on the East Coast and my parents were in Las Vegas. Dealing with her estate from across the country and helping my dad move back East was extremely challenging and we learned a lot in the process – experience we have brought to Caring Transitions. Clients who work with Caring Transitions of Greater Boston will have someone they can to turn to in a tough situation – we’ve been there and we know what they’re going through.”
In addition to the services Caring Transitions provides, Betty is a Certified Relocation and Transition Specialist, a designation bestowed by an independent organization that evaluates providers of senior relocation services. The team is trained, bonded and insured.
