Rochester Yoga Festival Back For Big Second Year
Rochester, NY (PRWEB) September 09, 2014 -- A yoga retreat showcasing both the wide ranging styles of yoga practiced in the Rochester area and some of our talented, enthusiastic local instructors is being held at the Saint John Fisher Varsity Gym on September 21, 2014 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
The Rochester Yoga Festival created to embrace and celebrate the Rochester yoga community, is back for a second year expanding their event offerings by providing five class sessions throughout the day, with several styles of yoga that are practiced throughout Rochester, including; Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga, YogaWorks Style Vinyasa Yoga, Pranayama, Bikram Yoga, Meditation and more. Instructors will include Carly Weis from Breathe Yoga, Aimee Senise Bohn from TruYoga and Midtown Athletic Club, Joan Nichols from Inspire Yoga, Aaron Fleischer from Bikram Yoga Rochester, Carrie Herscovici from Prana Yoga, and Molly Huff from Molly’s Yoga Corner.
Bohn says, “Any chance for us to connect to one another on a broader scale that opens our bodies, minds, and hearts to new vistas, ideas, and energy is the ultimate form of yoga.”
Carly Weis adds, “I am excited to be a part of the 2nd annual Rochester Yoga Festival. There is so much passion, knowledge, and talent within the Rochester yoga community and to be able to come together on one day to share and to learn is a way to celebrate that.”
There will be three breakout sessions to liven up the lunch break, including; an outdoor pranayama session, an outdoor yoga session, and an AcroYoga jam session with Joanne Wu.
This event also provides attendees access to local health and wellness vendors, live music, a henna tattoo artist, and numerous handmade items by local artisans.
The Rochester Yoga Festival will offer Rochesterians the perfect opportunity to sample many different and diverse styles of yoga that they might not otherwise try. The event holds 270 attendees and the sheer size of each session is sure to wow attendees and provide a contrast to a normal studio practice.
Festival Director Jennifer Morgan says, “There is a distinct energy that is created when people are doing something they love around others that are also passionate about the same thing. This is the best way for the yoga community to come together and experience teachings from all of the praised teachers throughout the area.”
New this year to the festival, making it a two day event is a festival pre-party, to be held on Saturday, September 20th at the Rochester Brainery from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM. The pre-party will include live music, a yoga session, and gluten-free and vegan snacks.
