DeWys Manufacturing Hires Curtis Kolarik as New Manufacturing Engineer
Marne, MI (PRWEB) September 11, 2014 -- DeWys Manufacturing Inc. a West-Michigan based metal solutions company, is pleased to announce the addition of Curtis Kolarik as our new Manufacturing Engineer. In his new role, Curtis will be working to improve operations and efficiencies within the company. His first project is to implement a large weldment area. This will increase throughput of bulky weldments by using a 3 axis welding positioner to decrease welding time.
Prior to joining DeWys Manufacturing, Curtis attended Northwestern Michigan College, where he got his Associates of Applied Science. He then transferred to Grand Valley State University for a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a major in Product Design and Manufacturing. While attending school he was an intern at DeWys Mfg. for his last three semesters, and used DeWys for his senior project. Alongside a few classmates, they created a 2 axis positioner which will allow one set up to complete a part instead of multiple set ups. This will cut down the time per part by 40 seconds with an estimated 35% cost savings. The knowledge Curtis gained from NMC and GVSU will make him a great asset to DeWys Manufacturing.
