NamPower Small Diameter Nylon Abrasive Disc Brushes: BRM Announces New Brush Tools for IMTS 2014 (Booth N-7163); Publishes Technical Article
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) September 10, 2014 -- Brush Research Manufacturing (BRM), American-owned supplier of Flex-Hone® tools and nylon abrasive brushes, is announcing smaller-diameter NamPower abrasive disc brushes for harder-to-reach areas and planetary head mountings. Ideal for automated machinery, these industrial brushing tools are the latest development in NamPower technology, a high-performance solution to surface finish challenges.
NamPower nylon abrasive brushes mount in today’s production machinery and provide consistent, cost-effective surface finishing and deburring for OD applications. The NamPower family of products includes nylon abrasive disc brushes in a variety of diameters. All NamPower disc brushes are also available with a special tool-holder for flow-through cooling.
Brush Sizes, Styles, and Filament Options
As BRM’s new technical article explains, NamPower mini disc brushes come in 50-mm, 60-mm, and 80-mm diameters in both dot and turbine styles. Dot style brush tools are designed for light-duty deburring and edge blending. Turbine style abrasive disc brushes are recommended for medium-duty and heavy-duty burr removal. Both styles of NamPower brushes support short cycle times and long brush tool life.
NamPower miniature nylon abrasive disc brushes come with a unique combination of white ceramic and silicon carbide abrasive for producing maximum burr removal rates and an optimum surface finish at the same time. Available grit sizes for these small-diameter brush tools are 80, 120, 180, and 320. Custom NamPower mini disc brushes are also available, and feature a combination of blue ceramic and silicon carbide, or blue ceramic only.
Thermoplastic Base and Flow-Through Tool Holder
As BRM’s technical article explains, all NamPower abrasive disc brushes are built with a molded thermoplastic base that provides greater stability and rigidity with reduced vibration. These well- balanced brushing tools are designed for use with CNC equipment and other automated machinery, and enhance brush performance while extending brush tool life.
Small-diameter NamPower nylon abrasive brushes also feature a flow-through tool holder with a 16-mm shank. As with the tool holders for larger-diameter NamPower disc brushes, coolant flows through from the brush center, resulting in better lubricant dispersion. All NamPower flow-through tool holders are heat-treated, precision-ground, and PVD coated.
