Pinnacle Quality Insight Named Approved Vendor for Hospice CAHPS
Salt Lake City, Utah (PRWEB) September 11, 2014 -- Pinnacle Quality Insight has announced that they have received interim approval to administer the Hospice CAHPS surveys in accordance with the requirements set forth by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). All approved vendors are approved on an interim basis until they complete the CMS vendor training which will take place in October 2014.
Founded in 1996, Pinnacle Quality Insight is a satisfaction measurement firm out of Salt Lake City, Utah and is also an approved vendor for HH-CAHPS. Pinnacle specializes in phone surveys for the health care industry.
Pinnacle’s CEO, Chris Magleby said in statement, “we are very grateful to CMS and the CAHPS Hospice Survey Project Team for granting us approved status. It will mean a lot to our many clients who operate Hospice agencies. It also means a lot to the 120 people employed and contracted by Pinnacle. This is a great day for Pinnacle.”
As part of the Hospice Quality Reporting Program (HQRP) that was mandated by the Affordable Care Act of 2010, all Medicare-certified hospices that serve 50 or more survey eligible patients a calendar year are now required to contract with an approved vendor for the administration of the Hospice CAHPS survey.
The CAHPS survey has been designed to measure the experience of the deceased as well as their primary non-hospice caregiver. The 47 question Hospice CAHPS survey was released on July 29th, 2014 and can be found at CAHPS Survey. CMS has taken great care in creating this survey to truly capture the experience of the deceased and family as one unit, utilizing government agencies, industry leaders and key organizations involved in hospice care to help with its creation.
