Southern California Native Kevin L. Walker Turned Real Live Hollywood Vigilante
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) September 11, 2014 -- Actor Kevin L. Walker is learning just how powerful crowd-sourced projects can be with his latest role as “The Kid” in rising director Christian Sesma’s, "Vigilante Diaries." Audience funded success stories are no anomaly these days, but what is a rare feat is fostering an actual audience from the capital raised. But that’s exactly what happened for Walker, as Vigilante Diaries has gone from a web series to already-filming feature film with a slated release for early 2015.
Walker has also realized how faithful a casting website self submission can be, booking “The Kid” after taking matters into his own hands on Actor’s Access. But it wasn’t without some classic Hollywood “hurry up and wait.” “Some time passed, and I figured I didn’t get the gig,” said Walker. “About four to five weeks later I received a phone call from Christian [Sesma] and he asked me if I was still interested in the role. I said ‘hell yes’ and we started filming a week later.”
Once wrapped, Walker, again, basically assumed his part was finished, not hearing anything for months. “Then,” he said, “Christian called a few days ago saying, ‘Paul and I need The Kid!’” Now Walker is filming in the (producer-funded) feature film version of Vigilante Diaries alongside the likes of Jason Mewes (Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Clerks), Quinton “Rampage’ Jackson (The A-Team), Michael Madsen (Reservoir Dogs/ Kill Bill), Sal Guerrero (WWE Wrestler), Noel Gugliemi (Training Day, Dark Knight Rises), Chasty Ballesteros ("Stalker" / "Ray Donovan"), the list goes on...
Walker became interested in the arts at an early age, supplementing his love of sports with acting workshops and began auditioning for roles in high school, which he continued through college. Walker graduated from Arlington High School in Riverside, CA and then went on to graduate magna cum laude from The University of Southern California, where he double majored and received two degrees. One in International Business and the other in Political Science, eschewing Theater to be a more well-rounded person and because, as he put it, “I've always been the type to want to know how to do everything myself. I can read my own contracts, guide my own career, and determine my overall career progress. I want to make Kevin L. Walker a household name, and understand what that's really going to take." Walker continues to mold himself as an actor, producer, and overall person, and from the looks of it, you'll be seeing a lot more him soon. Check out his reel for a sneak at some of his work.
