Introducing Farmbox Direct: The Subscription Service That’s Redefining The Meaning Of Local-Organic Produce And A Seasonal Diet
New York, New York (PRWEB) September 10, 2014 -- Farmbox Direct, the newest subscription based service bringing 100% USDA certified organic, seasonal, and pesticide-free produce to doorsteps, launches with delivery along the east coast. Based in New York City, Farmbox Direct offers customers three different size boxes that can be delivered weekly or bi-weekly, containing only the freshest seasonal organic produce and delicious “must try” recipes. Each delivery can be customized based on the customer’s preferences, ensuring the highest level of satisfaction. Farmbox Direct gives families the opportunity to rediscover what a seasonal and local diet is with all of the produce’s health benefits.
Farmbox Direct seeks to promote the concept of eating clean food and introducing an easy way to incorporate eating organic to nourish and fulfill your body. “I started Farmbox Direct with a vision of how food should be, which is why my goal is to bring the farmers market in its highest purity to customer’s doors,” says Ashley Tyrner, Farmbox Direct’s founder and CEO. “Having been raised on a farm and brought up by a family of farmers in the Midwest, I’ve come to understand how much care should go into the food we eat by those who grow it. After becoming a single mother with a new career in fashion, and living off food stamps while I got back on my feet, I became even more cautious about what I ate and especially about what I fed my daughter. I knew there was a market for what I needed and it was my job to bring fresh, organic produce to people’s doorsteps. I am fortunate enough to personally engage every farmer, artisan, and vendor we work with – and if they’re not local or organic, then we won’t carry their produce.” She added, “I want to make real, nutritious food a given in the diet of every American. By eating by the seasons, we are eating foods when they are at their peak taste, are the most abundant, and the least expensive. I want to lower the negative connotations of organic produce, and showcase the many health benefits of a fresh diet. I want to draw the ‘you are what you eat’ connection even closer to everyone I deliver to, one box at a time.”
Farmbox Direct offers three different size boxes ranging from $36.95 - $58.95. Following the company’s launch in Manhattan and Brooklyn, Farmbox Direct has expanded throughout the east coast into 14,000 zip codes from New Hampshire to Virginia and plans to expand and serve customers nationally. This October, Farmbox will make its first steps towards the national stage, releasing "The Starter Box" which helps homes transition into using organic products. The monthly subscription box will be stocked with up to 12 organic products —everything from snacks to cleaning supplies to beauty products, and will ship out on the 15th of the month. Prices will range from $20 to $30, and customers can elect to continue ordering any of the products in future deliveries.
