“This Day of Service initiative is a great way to celebrate our successes while giving back and engaging with our neighbors in our branch communities,” said Bill Evans, president and CEO of AmeriPride.

Celebrating its 125th anniversary, AmeriPride Services today announced that its branches across the U.S. and Canada will participate in a ‘Day of Service’ to give back to their local communities during the month of September. Employees will have the opportunity to spend all or part of their work day volunteering for a local organization or cause that is selected by their branch.

“For 125 years, AmeriPride has been committed to providing excellent service to our customers, as well as serving the local communities where we operate,” said Bill Evans, president and CEO of AmeriPride Services. “We have a long legacy of identifying needs in our communities and finding a way to fulfill those needs.”

AmeriPride has historically provided goods and services to communities impacted by natural disasters or charitable organizations that serve communities near AmeriPride branches. Examples of current Day of Service initiatives that are in the works are:

--Preparing meals at a local soup kitchen, helping out at local food banks and donating towels
--Volunteering and providing food for Ronald McDonald House ‘Cooks for Kids’ meal program
--Participating in walks and rides, such as the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, that raise money and awareness
--Volunteering for a River Sweep to pick up garbage
--Working on a deconstruction project and feeding kids with Habitat for Humanity
--Participating in a variety of United Way events
--Supplying and distributing school supplies to underprivileged students at a local elementary school

The program was designed so individual branches are able to select charities or causes that are important to their employees or that they have a personal connection with. It helps personalize the program and further strengthen ties with their communities.

“We’re proud of our longevity in the industry and growth as a company, as well as the positive impact we’ve made on the businesses and communities we serve,” said Evans. “This Day of Service initiative is a great way to celebrate our successes while giving back and engaging with our neighbors in our branch communities.”

AmeriPride corporate HQ employees and vendor partners recently raised over $125,000 for the Twin Cities United Way in honor of their 125th anniversary. Last year the company won the Twin Cities United Way ‘Best in Show’ Award for an annual campaign which significantly increased participation and funds raised.
