CFPA Honors Top Weekly Rushing Performances
Charleston, SC (PRWEB) September 12, 2014 -- College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) recently recognized the top rushing performances in Division I-FBS and Division I-FCS college football for the first two weeks of the 2014 season.
USF running back Marlon Mack was recognized as CFPA National Running Back of Week 1. Mack rushed for 275 yards and four touchdowns on 24 carries in a 36-31 victory over Western Carolina. Saint Francis U running back Khairi Dickson earned the equivalent weekly award for FCS running backs. Dickson contributed 244 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 33 carries in a loss to Fordham.
In week two, Minnesota's David Cobb earned CFPA National Running Back of the Week honors, while Stephen F. Austin running back Gus Johnson earned the equivalent weekly award for FCS running backs. Johnson produced 252 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 25 carries in a 38-3 victory over Incarnate Word.
Several running backs earned Honorable Mention recognition for their weekly performances. Morgan State's Herb Walker Jr. earned CFPA FCS Honorable Mention Running Back of Week 2 recognition after posting 271 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 29 carries in a loss to Holy Cross.

CFPA FCS Winners Adams & Kupp Lead Eastern Washington to 3-0 Start:
2013 CFPA FCS National Performer of the Year Vernon Adams and 2013 CFPA FCS Wide Receiver Award winner Cooper Kupp have led Eastern Washington to a 3-0 start to the 2014 season. Adams, the Division I-FCS active career leader in passing yards per game and total offense, has completed 85-of-125 passes for 1,147 yards and 16 touchdowns in the 2014 season.
Five Eastern Washington Eagles have earned CFPA FCS annual honors, while the 2010 FCS National Championship team earned the CFPA team performance award for overall efficiency.
