Foodie Focused Weekends at The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) September 13, 2014 -- The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay announces Foodie Focused Weekends for the fall. Starting in September, weekends at the coastal resort will be highlighted by cooking classes, homegrown cocktails, themed brunches and pop-up bars with guest mixologists.
FIRST SATURDAYS
In the Kitchen with Chef Kevin Tanaka: The demonstration-style cooking classes highlight seasonal fare sourced from the renowned farms surrounding the coastal resort. In the Kitchen classes are $85 per person, inclusive of tax and gratuity, and are held in Navio from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The program includes a three-course lunch with wine paired by Petra Polakovicova, the resort’s sommelier.
• September 6: Halibut and Fall Mushrooms
• October 4, 11, 18 and 25: Pumpkins, Pumpkins and Pumpkins
• November 1: Turkey and Root Vegetables
• December 6: Dungeness Crab and Pears
SECOND SATURDAYS
Themed Brunch: A seasonal brunch will be presented every second Saturday throughout the fall and winter seasons. The brunch will be themed to showcase some of the local areas bountiful harvest including local apples in September, pumpkins in October, goat cheeses from Harley Farms in November, and market spices in December. Brunch will also include a create-your-own Bloody Mary station featuring seasonal garnishes such as apple sauce, spicy pumpkin seeds and pumpkin bitters, goat cheese skewers, and artisanal spiced salt in December. Second Saturday Brunch, a more casual offering, is available September 13, October 11 November 8 and December 13. The brunch features two seatings at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and is $85 per person, exclusive of tax and gratuity.
THIRD FRIDAYS
Homegrown Cocktails in The Conservatory: At 4 p.m. on the third Friday of the month, the resort’s Growing Wall will be changed out in The Conservatory. At the same time, one of the featured Homegrown Cocktails will be retired from the menu and a new cocktail will be placed on the menu. Guests who are in The Conservatory during the change out will be treated to a sample taste of the new cocktail. The Growing Wall features live herbs that are the inspiration for the Homegrown Cocktail menu and the fresh herbs are incorporated such drinks as a Rum Thyme and Liquid Caprese.
LAST SUNDAYS
Pop Up Bar with Guest Mixologist: The Ocean Terrace welcomes guest mixologists from around the Bay to share their favorite signature cocktail with resort guests. The Pop Up Bar will be available from 2 to 5 p.m. on the last Sunday of the month. Live jazz/bossa nova music from The Shape will also accompany the afternoons. Guest Mixologists include:
