Inc. Magazine Names The Webster Group One of America’s Fastest-Growing Private Companies
Washington, DC (PRWEB) September 11, 2014 -- Inc. magazine has included The Webster Group (TWG), a global event-planning company headquartered in Washington DC, in its 33rd annual Inc. 500|5000 ranking of the nation's fastest-growing private companies.
“We are extremely honored to be included for the first time in this illustrious list, and we have our clients to thank for The Webster Group’s strong growth,” said TWG President and CEO Wendy Drake. “We’re grateful for their continuing votes of confidence in our work to achieve their goals, and we look forward to moving up in this ranking in the years to come!”
Lynda Webster founded TWG in the basement office of her Washington DC home back in 1995, pursuing her passion of supporting the work of important non-profit organizations such as Save the Children and the American Red Cross. In 2001 Ms. Drake joined the company and the two women broadened TWG’s client base to include associations, embassies, and government and corporate clients, both in the United States and abroad.
Today the TWG team has planned and produced nearly 700 events. Working from their MacArthur Boulevard offices, they have been honored to be part of signature U.S. events including the 2006 opening of the Air Force Memorial, attended by 43,000 guests, the Pentagon Memorial and the Lyndon Baines Johnson Centennial in 2008, and the 25th anniversary of the election of President George H.W. Bush, celebrated this year at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
Increasingly international in focus, TWG over the past two years has been awarded the contracts to plan and produce nine trade missions and workshops on behalf of the U.S. Trade and Development Agency, most recently in Ankara, Turkey and Bangalore, India. TWG also continues to enjoy strong relationships with its original clients, working year after year to serve the needs of organizations including the Congressional Medal of Honor Society, AMVETS, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, The Pentagon Federal Credit Union Foundation, America Abroad Media, the Points of Light Foundation and the National Cherry Blossom Festival, to name just a few.
This year’s Inc. 5000 was unveiled online at Inc.com, with the top 500 companies featured in the September issue of Inc., available until November 30. It’s the most competitive crop in the list’s history. With aggregate revenues of $211 billion, companies on the list have generated 505,000 jobs over the past three years.
