Connect First Partner, World Racing League, to Host Second Race of the Year in Colorado
Byers, Colo. (PRWEB) September 12, 2014 -- World Racing League is primed to host its second race in Colorado this year at the High Plains Raceway in Byers, Colo. The race, set for Sept. 13, is a 12-hour endurance race.
This is the sixth race in World Racing League’s eight-race inaugural season, and the second race in Colorado this year. Teams are travelling from as far away as Texas, Missouri and Canada to compete at the racetrack. Porsche, Mazda, Chevy, VW, Ford and more will be represented on track as teams battle the track, time and each other to come out on top of the 12 hour race.
World Racing League was created to fill the void between what is considered “crapcan” or budget endurance racing, and the pro endurance races like The Rolex series. The basic premise of the series is to keep cost and complication at a minimum, allowing the focus to remain on teams, drivers and great racing.
“Through our first five races, our teams have proven that endurance racing can be competitive, exciting, and inclusive of cars at almost every level, yet remain affordable,” said series founder, Joey Todd. “Nowhere was this better exemplified than at High Plains Raceway last June, as Porsche Boxsters, Mazda Miatas and Volkswagen Jettas among others raced side-by-side for 12 hours without incident. We are looking forward to our return to Colorado on September 13th as many of the same teams will take another shot at winning their respective classes.”
About The World Racing League: World Racing League (WRL) is a grassroots endurance racing series based on the idea that amateur road racing should be accessible and enjoyable, without unnecessary hassles or barriers to participate, and without losing the flavor and nature of real competition. WRL is focused on one thing: Being the best amateur endurance racing series in North America. Club racing cars, Vintage racing cars, budget racing cars, if they are safe and fall within WRL’s power-to-weight limits, then they are also World Racing League cars. PT, STO, STL, GT, Production, IT, SM, Chump and LeMons are just a few of the types of cars that fit into a class.
