Veterans to Get Flu Shots Without Leaving Their Car
PEMBROKE PINES, FL (PRWEB) September 12, 2014 -- Enrolled Veterans are encouraged to get their flu shot at the first drive-thru flu shot clinic Friday, Sept. 19 from 7 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Pembroke Pines VA Community-Based Outpatient Clinic located at 7369 W. Sheridan Street, Hollywood, FL.
The process for Veterans needing the vaccine is as simple as driving to the clinic, rolling down their windows and rolling up their sleeves. Miami VA nurses will staff the drive-thru station and are available to answer any questions patients might have.
With the South Florida flu season just around the corner, getting the seasonal flu vaccine is the best way to fight the flu. This year’s vaccine includes protection for three different flu strains and it is recommended that Veterans receive the flu vaccine each year as the flu vaccine is formulated differently depending on what version of the flu is widespread in the community.
Veterans currently not enrolled will have the opportunity to enroll for VA Healthcare and get their flu shot.
