Father Robert Barron’s New Video Series, “Priest, Prophet, King,” Is Released
Chicago, Illinois (PRWEB) September 15, 2014 -- “The better we understand Jesus, the better we understand ourselves,” Father Robert Barron says about the release of his new film and study program, “Priest, Prophet, King.” The renowned priest wants to help viewers discover Jesus as the Anointed One and to embody his way of life.
Using biblical insights and engaging stories, Father Barron shows how priests, prophets, and kings were foreshadowed throughout the Hebrew Scriptures, and then how Jesus fulfills each role in the New Testament.
Father Barron is the founder of Word on Fire Catholic Ministries and the Rector/President of Mundelein Seminary. An acclaimed author, speaker, and theologian, he is perhaps best known for creating and hosting the award winning “Catholicism” film series, an epic ten-part documentary on the life and teachings of the Catholic Church seen by millions throughout the world.
“The prophets of the false Gods are everywhere today,” said Father Barron. “They tell our kids all the time that the path to happiness is wealth, pleasure, power and honor. But we must boldly challenge these false gods and reveal the strange, startling truth that Jesus Crucified is the true vision of happiness and freedom.”
Through this presentation of “Priest, Prophet, King,” Father Barron wants viewers to better understand Jesus, become more familiar with Scripture, and realize their own priestly, prophetic, and kingly mission.
This deeply biblical program, filmed in high-definition video by Spirit Juice Studios, features an accompanying study guide by notable Catholic writer and apologist, Carl Olson, written under Father Barron’s direction.
The six lesson in the “Priest, Prophet, King” study program are:
1. Adoratio: Adam as Priest
2. The High Priest
3. Challenging False Worship: Elijah the Prophet
4. The Word Made Flesh
5. Ordering the Kingdom: King David
6. King of Kings
Materials in the study program include:
• DVD/Blu-ray Set (six 20-minute segments)
• Leader’s Guide (Facilitator Guide; six lessons and Answer Key)
• Study Guide (six lessons for participants)
Each of the six study sessions begins with participants reading the commentary in their study guides and answering the lesson questions on their own before meeting in the larger group. Then everyone gathers to watch the DVD lecture. After the DVD, the participants break into small groups and discuss the lesson questions.
