We love our GoPros but one of the biggest inconveniences is charging the batteries. So we decided to come together to develop an easy to use GoPro wireless charging system.
San Francisco, California (PRWEB) September 16, 2014
Jolt Charger™ announces the world’s first wireless charger for GoPro® cameras. Kickstarter campaign backers will be the first to receive the product.
Jolt Charger's products are targeted at the millions of GoPro® Hero3 and Hero3+ users who are looking for a fast, convenient way to charge their cameras without the hassle of opening the camera’s waterproof case and charging door and exposing the camera to water, dust or dirt in their outdoor adventures.
Jolt Charger is launching a Kickstarter campaign from Sept. 16, 2014 to Oct. 26, 2014 to drive product awareness and provide a discount for early adaptors of the product.
GoPro's popular Hero high definition personal cameras are compact and durable, making them a popular choice for use in extreme action videography. Inspired by their own experience and comments from the GoPro community about the difficulty of charging their cameras, the team behind the new Jolt Charger focused on removing this major pain point and creating a charger that would enhance the GoPro’s user experience.
"We love our GoPros but one of the biggest inconveniences is charging the batteries,” said Pouyan Shams, a member of the Jolt team. “You have to take it out of the protective case and remove the charging connector cover and plug it in. The problem is that when you do all of this outdoors while shooting some action, not only are you fumbling around with all these parts but you are exposing the camera and its parts to dust and water that could ruin the camera. So we decided to come together to develop an easy to use GoPro wireless charging system.”
Jolt™ comes as a wireless charger pad and GoPro compatible rechargeable Li-Ion battery. Users simply swap out the camera battery with the Jolt Battery™ which has the same capacity and charging time. The camera (in or out of the protective polycarbonate case) can then be charged simply by dropping on the Jolt Pad™. Jolt batteries can also be charged wirelessly when dropped on the Jolt pad by themselves.
Jolt will initially release GoPro’s Hero3 or Hero3+ compatible batteries. As new GoPro cameras become available, Jolt will be releasing batteries for the new cameras that can also be charged on the same Jolt pad.
To design this unique product, Jolt Charger partnered with Mojo Mobility, a leader in wireless charging, to develop a product that allows 2 cameras, 3 Jolt batteries or a combination of cameras and batteries to be simultaneously charged on the Jolt pad.
"We have designed and built the Jolt prototypes," said Ausra Liaukeviciute, Head of Marketing for Jolt Charger. “We are now moving into mass production. We just need to add the finishing touches and build a product that the whole GoPro community can enjoy."
