Reading, United Kingdom (PRWEB UK) 17 September 2014
17 September 2014, Independent mobile app development studio, App Patch releases a new educational app which breaks the mould for math apps. It’s fun and engaging and teaches important mental arithmetic techniques.
Some apps just present a question offering no help. This one helps by providing an interactive number line, allows the equation order to be changed and the child can split a number to make a number double. These are all techniques taught in schools around the world, and are specifically relevant to US schools adopting the Common Core Standards in Math.
The engagement continues during the game as completing a round of questions allows the child to start building their own rocket, and finally launch it. The app internally records metrics for the teacher or parent to monitor progress.
It’s a family business with the developer's daughter providing the voiceover for this app. The developer has been creating apps for 3 years, and the simple controls in this app come from this learned experience about how kids use apps.
The developer will be celebrating the release with a giveaway of 80 apps to the local primary schools (elementary level) who collaborated in the development of the app. The app is part of Apples Educational Discount program, allowing schools to receive a discount.
Mathsplat - Alien Addition, an iPad app, launches worldwide on the 17th September 2014, and can be found on the Apple AppStore.
