ProAct Safety President to Speak on Safety Culture at Georgia Safety, Health and Environmental Conference
The Woodlands, TX (PRWEB) September 16, 2014 -- ProAct Safety, a recognized pioneer in safety excellence strategies, announced its president, Shawn M. Galloway, will address attendees at the 21st annual Georgia Safety, Health and Environmental Conference in Savannah, Georgia. The conference will be held October 8 – 10, 2014, at the Savannah Marriott Riverfront.
Galloway will deliver two sessions. In the first, “Safety Excellence: From Hands and Feet to Hearts and Minds,” he will share a better-practices approach to safety management used by many of safety’s most successful organizations. Galloway will also leverage his years of experience with hundreds of organizations to review a few misconceptions about safety that can keep safety leaders from accomplishing the safety excellence they desire for their organizations.
Galloway said the presentation will be full of practical tactics and case studies to help attendees determine their plan of action and monitor progress toward safety goals.
The second presentation is titled, “Stop Trying to Create a Safety Culture, Evolve the One You Have.” Galloway will emphasize the benefit of using an organization’s current safety culture as a starting point for successful safety culture change, rather than starting over from scratch. He said, “Attempting to benchmark against the safety cultures of other organizations can be demotivational. It’s more effective to begin by understanding your current cultural focus on safety and what has created it, then use proven methods to evolve it to best practices.”
Galloway will identify nine elements of a safety culture to help companies identify areas of greatest need and determine priorities for advancing the capabilities of their safety cultures.
