Long Island Mom's Tech Startup Seeks to Boost Attendance at Local Youth Programs
Levittown, NY (PRWEB) September 17, 2014 -- In an effort to make more parents aware of all of the wonderful youth activities offered in their communities on any given day, a Long Island mom has created a website that allows youth-oriented organizations and businesses to make their program schedules and event calendars freely available and easily searchable online.
Parents can access Bizzydoo from their phones, tablets, and/or computers to search for things to do with their kids by zip code, theme, day of week, start time, age range, and cost. It doesn’t cost anything to search for or post activities.
“Kids who are exposed to diverse, enriching experiences outside the home have a much better chance of becoming tomorrow’s movers and shakers. Most parents want to introduce their kids to new and exciting things, but a lot of them either don’t know where to look or don’t have the time to organize all of the scattered resources. It can be overwhelming. That’s why we created something simple that you can use whenever you want from wherever you are,” explains Jessica Castelli, founder and chief executive of Bizzydoo.
Since its launch last month, Bizzydoo has published activities in ten Long Island towns, with plans to expand to all of Long Island and the New York metro area over the next few months. “My dream is to be a national brand someday, continually helping parents across the country find new ways to get their kids out of the house and into the world,” says Castelli.
