“Our speaker roster for the 2014-15 academic year is outstanding and we’re proud to give students and members of the public an opportunity to be enlightened and inspired by the personal and professional stories that this year’s speakers will share."

The National Society of Leadership and Success, the nation’s largest leadership honor society, announced today that Stephen Bardo, sports analyst, author, and former NBA player, will kick off its Broadcast Speaker Series at Georgia Perimeter College in partnership with DeVry University (Alpharetta and Decatur campuses) and Mercer University for the 2014-2015 academic year. “The Society is also happy to announce that TOMS Founder and Chief Shoe Giver Blake Mycoskie has been chosen as our 2014 Speaker of the Year,” said Knippen. “Members chose him as Speaker of the Year because they were inspired by his talk during the 2013-14 series that focused on the change we can create in the world when giving is an elemental part of an entrepreneur’s business model. We applaud him for this recognition, congratulate him for his success, and thank him for his motivational words to our students.”

Each year, the Society surveys members across its more than 400 chapters nationwide to gain insights on how to improve or enhance the Speaker Series and other programs. Students are also given an opportunity to watch each of the Series presentations and select their choice for Speaker of the Year.
