Ticket Sales Strong for The Jackson Symphony’s 22nd Annual Legend Benefit Concert Featuring Wilson Phillips
Jackson, TN (PRWEB) September 17, 2014 -- Wilson Phillips joins The Jackson Symphony for a performance encompassing their own legendary hits as well as the greatest hits of their famous parents’ bands, The Beach Boys and the Mamas and the Papas! Sisters Carnie and Wendy Wilson are the daughters of The Beach Boys’ Brian Wilson while Chynna Phillips is the daughter of the Mamas and the Papas’ John and Michelle Phillips.
In 1990 the release of the album of the same name Wilson Phillips heralded the emergence of a bright new pop vocal trio. Together the gals produced a harmonic blend that did their parents proud while achieving their own chart–topping success in such classics as Hold On which won the Billboard Music Award for Hot 100 Single of the Year 1990; Release Me; You’re in Love; Give it Up, and Impulsive.
In 2012, celebrating their 20th year as recording artists with a total of six albums, Wilson Phillips released Dedicated, the ground breaking album the vocal trio was always destined to make: an 11-song set in a long-anticipated tribute to their legendary parent groups and one that fans have been dreaming about for a long time! The group has returned to the spotlight following its memorable performance of Hold On in the blockbuster film Bridesmaids.
“We are always thrilled when we can bring talent like Wilson Phillips to West Tennessee,” said Peter Shannon, Music Director and Conductor of The Jackson Symphony. “Our orchestra playing alongside this legendary vocal trio is an opportunity we welcome and we look forward to a magical evening.”
