MEA Appoints Tom Halek as Vice President of Marketing
Eagan, MN (PRWEB) September 17, 2014 -- Patrick Van Beek, president of Midwest ENERGY Association (MEA), an energy delivery trade association founded in 1905, announced the appointment of Tom Halek as its new Vice President of Marketing. Tom joined MEA on September 15.
Mr. Halek is a lifelong resident of the Twin Cities and brings extensive experience in Marketing, Sales and Business Development across a variety of industries, including 13 years with a major natural gas delivery company. As Vice President of Marketing, Tom is responsible for the direction of MEA’s sales communication and strategic management.

Tom received his undergraduate degree in Industrial Studies with an emphasis in Energy from St. Cloud State University and is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management Executive MBA program.
Tom enjoyed a progressive 13 year career with Minnegasco (now CenterPoint Energy) holding several management positions in Residential/Commercial Marketing, Sales and Business Development. Under his leadership, Minnegasco developed the first service line installation guarantee program in the country called Rapid Response and launched the first natural gas fireplace rebate program. After leaving the utility industry, Tom launched two of his own companies; Professional Property Inspections, Inc. and PropertyOne Services Group, Inc. Prior to joining MEA in September, Tom was a General Manager and Small Business Consultant serving the home improvement industry.
Tom is a past board member and President of the Minnesota Blue Flame Gas Association and has earned numerous awards for his leadership from a number of trade associations. In addition, Tom authored a marketing and information technology white paper on strategic database marketing called World Class Marketing: Information – The Primary Strategic Resource.
