The Henry Ford and Litton Entertainment Announce The Henry Ford's Innovation Nation Teacher Innovator Awards
Dearborn, MI (PRWEB) September 23, 2014 -- The Henry Ford and Litton Entertainment announce today The Henry Ford’s Innovation Nation Teacher Innovator Awards. In conjunction with the television show The Henry Ford’s Innovation Nation making its national debut on CBS on September 27 as part of the “CBS Dream Team, It’s Epic!” Saturday morning block, the awards recognize the educators who are using the classroom to inspire innovation, creativity, problem solving and critical thinking among their students.
“The Henry Ford is proud to recognize those teachers taking it forward by applying innovative teaching methods inside the classroom,” said Patricia Mooradian, president of The Henry Ford. “Through our partnership with Litton Entertainment and the launch of The Henry Ford’s Innovation Nation, we hope to encourage and equip teachers with new ways of educating today’s learners and tomorrow’s innovators.”
Teachers can apply for The Henry Ford’s Innovation Nation Teacher Innovator Awards by completing a submission form online or by mail that includes supportive materials of their creative curriculum in action, along with a written essay on how their teaching methodology is inspiring creativity, critical thinking, problem solving or interest in the STEM fields. Twenty educators in total will receive prizes for their outstanding work with the top 10 first place winners receiving a week-long “Innovation Immersion Experience” at The Henry Ford in Dearborn, Michigan. These top winners will also receive recognition on The Henry Ford’s Innovation Nation.
Winners will be selected based on their original and creative approach to teaching, their demonstrated resourcefulness and the positive impact they have made. Student engagement, learning goals, and evidence achieving those goals will also be taken in consideration. All entries must be submitted by the February 6, 2015 deadline in order to be considered. The Henry Ford’s Innovation Nation Teacher Innovator Award winners will be announced on May 11, 2015.
Hosted by Mo Rocca, CBS’ “Sunday Morning” correspondent and produced by Litton Entertainment, The Henry Ford’s Innovation Nation will tell the fascinating stories behind the historic innovators of the past and the forward-looking visionaries of today, and the extraordinary talents and dedication required to bring their inventions to life.
