Common Core Quest, App for Universal Personalized Learning, Now Available on App Store and Google Play
LOS GATOS, California (PRWEB) September 22, 2014 -- Millions of U.S. teachers implementing the Common Core now have access to a powerful tool for personalizing learning for all students with today’s launch of Common Core Quest, a new, free app from OpenEd. Available now on the App Store and Google Play, Common Core Quest is a comprehensive quiz and instructional resource tool that spans all of the Common Core State Standards.
“The widespread adoption of the Common Core State Standards represents a pivotal transformation in the quality of education that we provide for students in our country and the expectations we have for achievement,” said Adam Blum, OpenEd CEO and co-founder. “At OpenEd, our commitment is to provide teachers and students with resources to make this transformation a reality. Common Core Quest allows teachers to implement universal personalized learning in their classrooms, by connecting assessment to learning resources from our curated catalog of videos and games in a seamless and fun way. And it is free.”
With Common Core Quest, students take quizzes to demonstrate mastery of the standards’ math and English/language arts skills. When learning gaps are identified, they are immediately linked to standards-aligned resources from OpenEd’s library of more than a million videos and games in a fun, advertising-free environment. As students progress, they earn ribbons for each Common Core standard met, and badges for entire strands.
The quizzes in Common Core Quest feature Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC) and Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) style questions, helping students prepare for the rigors of the high-stakes assessments they will face in the spring.
Teachers around the country have high praise for Common Core Quest in just its first few days of availability. Comments on Google Plus and the App Store include:
"This app offers such a great way to test and track Common Core standards mastery. The strength/quality of the assessment questions and customized resources attached to each question really set this app apart from any other CCSS resource I’ve used. Whether a student is in need of remediation to “catch up,” is tracking progress at the current grade level, or is an accelerated learner looking for a challenge, the self-paced and gamified approach to standards mastery really lends itself to the needs of any K-12 student. This one is definitely worth checking out – you won’t be disappointed."
"My favorite app for Common Core Practice! The practice problems – based on SBAC style questions (composite questions, free response, multiple-select, etc.) –are a good mix for students to really claim mastery of both basic concepts and more advanced-level thinking. Great job, OpenEd! The app runs great, and it is amazing how well the recommended videos help teach kids (and adults) the concepts."
"A gift for learning, Common Core Quest gives teachers fun and engaging assessment items that are aligned to standards. It can be used for review by students, too. The best part is that it is free."
