Iacopo Torrini Launches A New Product That Allows Consumers To Enjoy Japanese Aroma Therapy From Home
Kobe, Hyogo (PRWEB) September 18, 2014 -- Iacopo Torrini is an Italian man who has been living in Japan for the past 16 years. During that time, he has slowly cultivated a business that designs and crafts traditional wooden Japanese bathtubs. He has been shipping these bathtubs to buyers all over the world for years but has only recently begun developing a way to provide a similar experience for those that may not be able to afford or want to store such a lavish luxury. Torrini has created a way for people who own typical acrylic or porcelain tubs to enjoy the aromatic benefits of the Japanese Hinoki tree from home.
" If you place a good amount of Hinoki cypress in the form of wooden blocks, balls or wood chips in a normal acrylic or ceramic bathtub you could enjoy the same aroma and therapeutic properties of soaking in a wooden bathtub. ", says Torrini.
The idea behind Torrini's project involves collecting wooden shavings from the trees he uses to create his Japanese bathtubs. According to Torrini, there are many others who manufacture similar products with one significant difference, age. He claims that oils derived from younger trees are inferior to the aged, 250 to 300 year old, trees that he will be using.
Torrini claims that he will not only be able to produce these oils economically, due to the fact that the wooden shavings are a byproduct of his bathtub crafting, but also in an ecologically friendly way. Other companies producing these oils will be cutting down new trees in order to manufacturer their product while Torrini will be using wooden shavings which would otherwise be discarded.
Torrini was also quoted as saying, " There are many different types and brands of Hinoki cypress essential oil on the market but all of them come from the distillation of wood scraps originating from construction sites, basically 40 to 50 year old trees. You have to know that old growth Hinoki trees are used to build wooden bathtubs using, on average, 250 to 300 year old trees! The aroma from an old growth tree is totally different from the commercially available timber. ".
In order to build the funds that are required to begin the oil extracting process, Torrini has created an Indiegogo campaign. He is looking to build approximately $30,000.00 USD to pay for the manufacturing costs. In order to entice potential backers, Torrini and his company will be selling onsen oil kits ahead of time. The funds collected will be used to manufacture the oils and all backers can expect to receive their perks sometime in December of this year. More information about this campaign can be found on Indiegogo.
