We are building a technology that has the opportunity to make people’s lives not just easier, but truly better.

Fever Smart (http://www.feversmart.com) today announced the company has begun production of its highly anticipated smart patch thermometer, the first wearable device that allows parents to monitor their children’s temperature continuously and remotely using their smartphone. In addition to a revolutionary hardware device, Fever Smart features an easy-to-use smartphone application that is fully integrated with iOS8 and Apple’s Healthkit platform, making it the world's smartest thermometer. Fever Smart is taking pre-orders for the smart patch thermometer exclusively on Indiegogo. The 35-day campaign will feature the Fever Smart Thermometer at an introductory launch price of $99. Full retail price will be $129. The product is finalized and ready to manufacture. Fever Smart has received FDA certification. As a result, limited quantities are available for the expected December 2014 ship date. The campaign launched on September 17th and raised 75% of its $40,000 goal in the first 24 hours. “We are beyond excited to begin production on what has become the most anticipated thermometer in the market,” says Collin Hill, co-founder and CMO of Fever Smart. “We are building a technology that has the opportunity to make people’s lives not just easier, but truly better. We are changing the way parents care for their children.”

The idea behind Fever Smart was the result of Hill’s own personal health problem in 2012. Hill was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a blood cancer, at the age of nineteen. He began to think about a solution to traditional temperature monitoring when he was undergoing chemotherapy treatment to combat his cancer. “There was no way for me to continuously track my temperature for signs of fever, which meant that it was difficult to detect whether I might be getting an infection.” Other members of the Fever Smart team noticed a similar challenge. Explains Aaron Goldstein, co-founder and CEO of Fever Smart, “I saw that family and friends who had small children had trouble keeping track of their kids’ temperature when they thought they might be getting sick. They told me that conventional thermometers were difficult to use, uncomfortable for children, and, most concerning, they only provided a one-time temperature reading. Many of them wished there were a better option.”

Features of Fever Smart Include:

  •     Full integration with iOS 8 and Apple’s Healthkit
  •     Cloud connectivity
  •     FDA certification
  •     Continuous temperature monitoring
  •     Alerts when temperature begins to rise
  •     Accurate axillary temperature readings

To use Fever Smart, parents simply place the small device underneath the child's armpit using one of the disposable patches. The device constantly measures the child's temperature and sends the data to a relay unit, which is any iPad, iPod touch or smartphone that sits in the same room as the child. This relay unit then sends the data to the cloud, so a parent can access the information from anywhere in the world via a smart device.

Fever Smart is scheduled to ship in December 2014. For more information about Fever Smart, visit http://www.feversmart.com
