Mechanical Service Contractors of America and Convoy of HopePartner to Feed Hungry and Homeless in Orange County, CA
Costa Mesa, CA (PRWEB) September 18, 2014 -- On Friday, September 26, Convoy of Hope, an international humanitarian relief organization, will deliver food and supplies to Share Our Selves (SOS) to help give hope to the hungry and homeless of Orange County.
Mechanical Service Contractors of America (MSCA) employees and volunteers will be on hand to receive and process the delivery on behalf of SOS. In addition to receiving the delivery from Convoy of Hope, MSCA employees and volunteers will spend the afternoon volunteering at SOS – helping fill bags of food to be distributed in the SOS Food Pantry, assembling hygiene kits, and writing messages of hope to clients and patients.
MSCA is in the Orange County area for their 2014 Annual Conference. Convoy of Hope shipped the tractor-trailer load of supplies from its World Distribution Center in Springfield, Missouri and United Rentals has donated a forklift to assist with the unloading of the truck. The funds required to fill this tractor trailer with useful supplies were donated by MSCA members, local affiliated associations, and union partners with the United Association.
“We are thrilled to partner with Convoy of Hope and MSCA,” says Vanessa Ontiveros, SOS Facilities Manager. “Their support, hard work, and generous donation of grocery items will help SOS provide food and assistance to an average of 275 individuals and families a day. As we prepare for the increased demand during the holiday season, we are most appreciative of this tremendous donation.”
