Can Triple Play Home Communication companies leverage the influential power of Realtors? Yes, according to Neilson and IDR, Inc.

In a moving-related market research study conducted by Neilson, 74% of US adults said that they are likely to use a special offer from their real estate agent for an Internet, TV and telephone service.

The study conducted on behalf of IDR, Inc., a marketing firm that created and operates the 7 year old Agent Rewards Program, was conducted to gain insight into the level of positive influence a real estate agent has with their new home buyer clients.

"A trusted realtor is synonymous with a trusted lawyer or financial advisor. If our trusted financial advisor suggests how much to save for our children's college fund, you take their advice and put that money away each month," stated David Amaro, IDR's VP of Business Development.

"What this study confirms is what we've seen since the very 1st month we launched the Agent Rewards Program back in 2008, and that is, your real estate agent is a wealth of local knowledge about a variety of products and services that you need for your new home, whether you're moving across town or across the country," adds Amaro. "Especially when it comes to the rapidly advancing technology services for the home, where 88%+ of new home buyers are going to subscribe to a double or triple play - their influence makes the difference".

Another key fact that the study uncovered is that new Mover households stay with their original Internet, TV and phone provider for an average of 6.1 years vs. the industry average of 2.8 years. This concludes that a subscriber gained via a pre-mover marketing tactic such as the use of realtors is more than twice as profitable as a subscriber generated from the broad market.
