ZeroLandfill 2014 - Sustainability in Action!

Share Article

ZeroLandfill is an award-winning upcycling program held seasonally by IIDA Pacific Northwest that supports the supply needs of local artists and arts educators while reducing pressure on local landfill capacity.

With IIDA Seattle City Center and ZeroLandfill you can transform "green guilt" into constructive energy.

ZeroLandfill is sustainability in action! Architects, designers and manufacturers donate expired sample materials, volunteers handle and organize the materials and artists, and educators and crafters collect. The pounds of materials diverted from the landfill are celebrated as the materials have a second life in the community. That is, the materials are kept intact and re-used for another purpose.

IIDA Seattle City Center is coordinating for what is now the Third annual ZeroLandfillâ„¢ event on Oct 4th at the Miller Community Center on Capitol Hill in Seattle from 9am-6pm. Find samples of fabric, carpet, wall covering, wood, tile, stone, glass, rubber, vinyl, laminate and more to add to a personal collection or to complete a project!
