YogaWorks Celebrates the Opening of a New Dedicated Yoga Teacher Training Center in Santa Monica
Santa Monica, CA (PRWEB) September 20, 2014 -- YogaWorks is proud to announce the grand opening of a new dedicated YogaWorks Teacher Training Center located at 2301 Main Street, Suite A in Santa Monica, CA. YogaWorks was seeking the perfect place to host their growing trainings and was thrilled to find a space right across the street from YogaWorks Corporate Headquarters also on Main Street.
YogaWorks is referenced in the U.S. and abroad as “The Gold Standard in Yoga Education” for its stellar 200 and 300-Hour programs with a focus on alignment and intelligent sequencing. They have been in business for over 27 years and leading yoga teacher trainings since 1990. With over 100 trainings annually in over 17 countries and 50 cities around the globe, it was time to find a dedicated center to become the go-to place in Los Angeles for yogis and yoga teachers to expand their practice.
On Thursday, September 25th, from 5pm – 8pm, YogaWorks will have a grand opening event for the media, their teacher trainers and some trainers’ students. The event will include a ribbon cutting ceremony; a meditation led by Birgitte Kristen; a yoga class with YogaWorks trainers, Mia Togo and Patti Quintero and music DJ Shayn Almeida. Light snacks will be provided by next door neighbor, Rawvolution.
As the $27 billion Yoga industry exponentially grows, the demand for teacher trainings and continuing education increases. For many, as the personal journey of a yoga practice unfolds, practitioners desire to deepen their practice and understanding of yoga. YogaWorks teacher trainings were developed to expand a student’s knowledge of yoga beyond the classroom and physical postures. The YogaWorks yoga trainings offer an in-depth view of postural alignment, anatomy, breath-work, sequencing, the art of teaching, philosophy, and more. Some students may even decide to become a full or part-time teacher.
“Teacher training is an integral part of the YogaWorks business and our history,” states YogaWorks CEO Phil Swain. “The family tree of the YogaWorks Teacher Training program extends across the entire globe and the ever growing yoga community. There would be no YogaWorks without the amazing teachers who have come through our teacher training programs who continue to teach at our studios and across the world.”
The inaugural foundational 200-hour three month training will run on weekends from September 5th – November 23rd with teacher trainers, Mia Togo & Birgitte Kristen. YogaWorks will also have a four week intensive training with Patti Quintero that will take place on weekdays from October 6 – 31st.
"The YogaWorks Teacher Training was one of the greatest things I have ever done and the best gift I could have given myself,” says Kara, YogaWorks Alumni. “There are a lot of trainings out there but the YogaWorks training is one of the few that is this well-rounded, covering all aspects of yoga - from the physical asana to philosophy and anatomy. The training opened doors to all aspects of yoga which results in teachers that are probably some of the most educated and prepared yoga teachers out there.”
The YogaWorks Teacher Training is a great opportunity to take a training or workshop close to home on the weekends, or if you are from out of town, immerse yourself deeply in yoga with an urban retreat and enjoy Santa Monica!
