Vancouver, Canada (PRWEB) September 22, 2014
The International Society of Nurses in Cancer Care (ISNCC) welcomed nearly 400 participants from 40 countries at the International Conference on Cancer Nursing (ICCN) 2014, held September 7-11, 2014 at the Hilton Panama Hotel, Panama City, Panama. ICCN is the premier event in international cancer nursing – with the top cancer nursing leaders from all over the world in one place at one time. This was the first time that ISNCC has hosted ICCN in Latin America – and it was an outstanding success!
The theme of the ICCN 2014 was ‘Strengthening Leadership, Unity and Compassion in Cancer Care’ – and included preconference workshops, plenary sessions, oral abstract presentations, corporate symposia, exhibit hall, focus groups, institute tours, and networking receptions. All accepted abstracts are available on the ISNCC website (http://www.isncc.org) in the online Abstract Book.
ISNCC acknowledged various successful leaders at the ICCN 2014, including the following: Distinguished Merit Award – Betty Ferrell, RN, PhD, MA, FAAN, FPCN, CHPN (USA); Past Presidents’ Award – Xu Bo, BSN, MSN (China); Robert Tiffany Lectureship – Julia Downing, PhD, MMedSci, BN(Hons), Dip CN, RGN (Uganda). Further, 16 travel scholarships were distributed to cancer nursing leaders from Latin America.
