In the music business, there are a handful of artists that are considered royalty. One of those artists is 64-year-old Stevie Wonder. Born in Saginaw, MichIgan, Wonder has been a force in the music business since entering it in 1961. During his time in the music business, he has released 23 studio albums, three soundtracks, four live albums, and 11 compilations. He has also had 10 No. 10 singles on the pop charts and 20 No. 1 singles on the R&B charts. Over the course of his career, he has sold more than 100 million records and is one of the top 60 selling artists of all time.
With his extensive resume, the one thing that fans will say hasn’t happened enough are concerts. That will change beginning in November when the blind legend hits the road for an 11-date North American tour. The trek across the country will begin at the World’s Most Famous Arena, Madison Square Garden on Nov. 6th. His first tour since 2009 will run through Dec. 3rd with a stop at the KeyArena in Seattle. In between, Wonder will play at many elite venues including the TD Garden in Boston, Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and United Center in Chicago.
On the tour, Wonder will play his entire collection of songs from his 1976 album, Songs in the Key of Life. The album was certified Diamond in the United States by the Recording Industry Association of America for selling more than 10 million copies and reached the top of the charts on the Billboard 200 and Billboard R&B/Hip Hop album charts. Among the songs that the legendary artist will perform at the shows on this tour include “I Wish,” “Sir Duke,” “Another Star,” “As,” and “Isn’t She Lovely.”
When fans make their way to their local venue for the Songs in the Key of Life Performance, they will be in for a show that will leave them with a smile from ear-to-ear. Wonder ranked as the No. 5 performer on Billboard’s 2008 list of the Hot 100 All-Time Top Artists and has always been known as an artist that gives his fans a show to remember.
