New Report Reveals Alpha Omega Academy ACT Scores Surpass State and National Averages
Rock Rapids, IA (PRWEB) September 22, 2014 -- According to the school’s annual College Readiness Report from ACT released last month, Alpha Omega Academy (AOA) students surpassed both state and national averages on the ACT during the 2013-2014 school year.
Headquartered in Rock Rapids, Iowa, the online distance learning school for grades K-12 reported an average composite ACT score of 23.0, which exceeds the state of Iowa’s average composite score by a full point and the national average by two full points.
“Scores on exams like the ACT play an integral role in opening doors to the future for high school students,” Alpha Omega Academy Principal Joseph Bakker said. “They impact everything from college acceptance to financial aid awards. We are quite pleased with our students’ achievements throughout the past year.”
To aid students in preparing for the exam, AOA recently released a new ACT Test Prep course. The half-semester class provides high school students with helpful test-taking tips, four full-length practice tests, and content-specific instruction in English, math, reading, science, and writing.
The state of Iowa earned an average composite ACT score of 22.0 during the 2013-2014 school year, tying Kansas and Ohio for a rank of 18. Only eight states earned a higher average score than Alpha Omega Academy. Massachusetts ranked number one with an average composite score of 24.3.
