The Yahoo article, titled “Debt collectors are trying a new strategy to win people over: friendliness” by staff writer Mandi Woodruff of Yahoo Finance (August 26, 2014), found that most debt collectors are working to be friendlier when collecting past due accounts as a result of a decrease of about $3 billion in revenue from 2010 to 2013. The article cites that the main reason for this decrease in revenue is from aggressive, unfriendly behavior from debt collection agencies to debtors.
