We could not be more excited to partner with Verizon to offer our channel to millions of new households

International Media Distribution announced the launch of Mediaset Italia, the 24-hour Italian channel on Verizon FiOS TV, bringing customers Italian-language news, dramas, comedies and thriller series as well as variety and games shows, entertainment events, seasonal sports coverage and Italian films. The channel is available to FiOS TV customers in 12 states and the District of Columbia on Channel 1791.

Mediaset Italia is a 24-hour Italian-language channel offering the best programming from Italy's top channels: Canale 5, Italia 1 and Retequattro. The programming schedule is strategically created to offer all of the key primetime programs from all three channels, in addition to the best general Italian language entertainment programming available. Mediaset Italia also offers daily news, sports and movies to appeal to over 16 million Italians living in the United States. Mediaset Italia can be found on Facebook as well as on Twitter.

“We could not be more excited to partner with Verizon to offer our channel to millions of new households” said Giorgio Giovetti, Head of International Sales, Mediaset. “Italian Americans from Long Island to Los Angeles are cheering.”

“Mediaset Italia is the perfect addition to our international content offerings on FiOS,” said Terry Denson, Verizon’s vice president for content acquisition and strategy. “Number one meets number one. Italian Americans in our markets can now have the best of both TV worlds.”

Customers can subscribe to Mediaset Italia for the monthly price of $16.99 for a two channel Italian package including Rai Italia. For customer convenience, both Italian channels are next to each other in the new channel line-up, with Rai Italia now available on Channel 1790.

To give customers a taste of Mediaset Italia risk-free, Verizon FiOS TV is offering a limited time free preview of the channel to all customers with a digital box from October 20-27.
