Impressive First Year Achievements for Advertising and Design Creative Learning Center, San Diego Portfolio Studio
SAN DIEGO, CA (PRWEB) September 24, 2014 -- San Diego Portfolio Studio, a collaborative learning center for creatives in advertising, graphics, mobile and web, announced today a list of achievements from the business’ first year of operations. Achievements include multiple national, regional and local American Advertising Federation ADDY® award winners; more than a dozen alumni landing coveted positions with some of Southern California’s leading advertising, branding and digital marketing agencies; and the hosting of the studio’s first public portfolio review event.

The AAF Student Awards Competition is a unique national awards program designed for college students. Similar to the AAF’s professional-level award process, winning work at local events advance to regional and national judging. Additional SDPS students receiving awards include:

Portfolio Review
Providing a rare opportunity for creatives in San Diego, Orange and Riverside counties to gain valuable insight and receive critical feedback from people who influence hiring decisions, SDPS will host a portfolio review on Tuesday, October 14, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at 4858 Mercury Street, Suite 111 in the Kearny Mesa community of San Diego.
Scheduled to be on hand to review portfolios and provide attendees with industry insight include:
• Copywriting: Erika Hein-Ziganto, freelance copywriter at prAna (previously at Wunderman, Greenhaus, DraftFCB,Tris3ct)
• Advertising Art Direction: Kiumars “Q” Guorki, creative director at Seaside Ideas
• Interactive Design: Eduardo Garcia, senior visual designer at Experiences for Mankind
• Action Sports Brand Development: Scott Hultgren from Valhalla Design & Conquer
• Web/Mobile Design: Abi Hikima, senior visual designer at Digitaria

Industry Relationships & Quality Reputation
Within just this past year, SDPS alumni have used their portfolios to land positions with some of San Diego’s most notable creative agencies, including Digitaria, Experiences for Mankind and ViTRO. SDPS alumni have also been hired at Southern California locations of national agencies such as 72 and Sunny, Crispin Porter + Bogusky, David&Goliath, Mullen, and TBWA\Chiat\Day.
