Taking on this challenge is our way of saying thank you to our men and women in uniform for the work they do to protect our freedoms...A lot of passion, care, and generosity on the part of our contractors and partners went into the project.
New York, NY (PRWEB) September 23, 2014
Turner Construction Company is pleased to announce that in collaboration with JetBlue, Gensler, more than 28 contractors, and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, they have completed construction on a USO Center in JetBlue’s Terminal 5 at John F. Kennedy International Airport.
“Taking on this challenge is our way of saying thank you to our men and women in uniform for the work they do to protect our freedoms, and thank you to the USO for all they do to support our military service members and their families,” said Curt Zegler, the Turner project executive who oversaw the project. “A lot of passion, care, and generosity on the part of our contractors and partners went into the project.”
Designed and built entirely with donated funds, professional resources, labor, time and materials, the USO Center provides a place for military personnel and their families to relax, connect with friends and family members, and dine before and after flights, and during layovers. The space has an open layout and features natural light, media walls, a refreshment area, computers, game consoles and a quiet lounge.
