The publication features an exclusive interview with Michael Landsberg, host of TSN’s Off the Record. Landsberg, who battles mental illness himself, hopes to fade the shaming and stigmatism clouding the very real experience that one in five Canadians personally endure. He states, “The word mental suggests that it is somehow different than all the other illnesses,” but reiterates that those suffering are “sick, not weak”, and should be treated as such. Special editorial from the Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC) seeks to facilitate “full self-expression” for Canadians living with mental health conditions. Furthermore, the MHCC insists that, “Creating mentally healthy schools, workplaces, and communities — places where individuals feel valued, supported, and welcome — requires of each of us to put ending stigma at the top of our agenda.”
Special thanks to the Mental Health Commission of Canada, Connex Ontario, Lundbeck Canada, and others for their support in the making of this campaign.
