Remember The Miners Participating in 5k Charity Run
(PRWEB) September 22, 2014 -- Remember The Miners will take to the streets this Saturday, September 27th, to participate in Run For It, an annual 5K (or 2K) race in Tucker County, West Virginia. Their team will be running in support of coal miners nationwide and will be joined by hundreds of other individuals, all advocating for their own cause.
Run For It, held in conjunction with the Leaf Peepers Festival, attracts competitors from all over the region and rewards runners with cash prizes for their efforts in supporting their favorite charity or organization. The Leaf Peepers Festival, in its 26th year, is a three-day event celebrating autumn in the Appalachia.
Remember The Miners will pay the registration fees of 20 of its supporters to participate in the event and will provide them a free Remember The Miners “Run For It” t-shirt. This sponsorship will help Remember The Miners in promoting awareness for its annual scholarship awards that support the families of coal miners and its organization, as well as strengthen its relationship with local communities in West Virginia.
“Run For It is a fantastic event that gives people the opportunity to show pride for their respective causes,” said Jason Parsons, President and Co-Founder of Remember The Miners. “We are proud to support our nation’s coal miners, and an event like this gives us the opportunity to bring that passion to Tucker County, the heart of coal country.”
Brightline Interactive, a creative digital services agency in Alexandria, Virginia, will match the cost of tickets, t-shirts and promotion with an in-kind donation to Remember The Miners. Brightline specializes in custom applications and experiences for large-scale events in high-profile locations. They are a long-time supporter of Remember The Miners’ efforts to support the families of the West Virginia coal industry.
The race starts promptly at 11:00am in front of the Davis Fire Hall on Rt. 32 in Davis, West Virginia. If you are interested in participating in Run For It as a Remember The Miners representative, email [email protected] for more information.
