Why is Modern Art so Expensive ?

The group wanted to have an open dialogue with the long line of people waiting on line to get to see Jeff Koons's exhibit. To the amazement of The Unzipped Truth group, the Whitney let them in, sandwich boards and all. Perhaps they were let in because everything was being filmed. In addition, a previous piece of graffiti by the same group at the entrance to the Whitney had been removed and caught on camera. The group made a circus of the circus that the art world has become. The Unzipped Truth group asked questions like, "Why did they pay $20 to get in?" and whether they thought Koons's art was worth $60 million. After two hours of having irreverent fun, the group left amidst applause from the people that were there to see the show.

The Unzipped Truth is the creation of Marta Ibarrondo. The Unzipped Truth looks at the world through kid's eyes, questioning absolutely everything. But it answers with the big mouth of an outspoken city girl, whose opinions occasionally get her into trouble. Born in Spain, Marta considers herself a cultural matador. During the day she works as a Creative Director for some of the best Advertising Agencies in New York. At night she turns into a mad illustrator. Since she debuted her blog TheUnzippedTruth.com two years ago, she has had thousands of followers all throughout social media. Not happy with keeping the movement on the digital arena she decided to bring it into the streets of New York. Two weeks ago she covered the streets of New York City with provocative questions like; "Why are we slaves to fashion?", "Why is God white?" and "Why are we getting fatter and fatter?". This started an Instagram craze when people started posting pictures of the graffiti. The movement is touching a chord with young people. They like the fact that it questions absolutely everything, from sex to politics, and everything else in between, in an irreverent, provocative way. From her thousands of followers on social media she already has 80 volunteers for the next "event", which Ibarrondo is being mum about.
