John Morris Announces His Campaign for Los Angeles County Assessor Picks Up Major Endorsement By Supervisor Mike Antonovich
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) September 23, 2014 -- Head Deputy District Attorney John Morris's campaign for Los Angeles County Assessor took a major step forward with the strong endorsement of longtime LA County Supervisor Mike Antonovich and dozens of volunteers from across the county. The new endorsers joined the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association and nine major media organizations, including the LA Times and LA Daily News, in backing Morris.
"Since 1978, California property tax collection has gone up by 10 times, to approximately $49 billion annually statewide," said John Morris, a Head Deputy District Attorney for Los Angeles County and Candidate for Los Angeles County Assessor. "It is an honor to have the endorsement and trust of leaders like Supervisor Mike Antonovich who was a leader on property taxes since before the original Prop 13 campaign."
Supervisor Mike Antonovich has joined dozens of others backing Morris to lead the turn around of the troubled agency responsible for valuing and maintaining Los Angeles County's $1 trillion property roll. Morris has also been endorsed by nine major newspapers in LA County and the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association.
"Mike Antonovich has fought to keep our property tax dollars going to projects that make and keep our schools safe, improve our roads and water quality, and improve the lives of all Los Angeles County residents," Morris continued. "I look forward to working with him when I am Assessor so that we can protect Prop 13, prudently streamline operations, improve technology, and increase the transparency of county government for taxpayers."
