Survey Finds 67 Percent of Houston Entrepreneurs to Add More Jobs
Houston, TX (PRWEB) September 23, 2014 -- Houston entrepreneurs were more likely to have increased profits and added jobs than their counterparts across the country, according to a global survey conducted by Entrepreneurs' Organization.
“There's no better time to be an entrepreneur in Houston,” said Mark Martin, chapter president of Entrepreneurs' Organization-Houston. “These results underscore that Houston businesses are thriving and entrepreneurs are optimistic about that growth continuing. Our members reported earning more, having less debt and more capital and hiring more than other entrepreneurs surveyed.”
The survey, conducted throughout August, included 66 Houston-area companies with at least $1 million in annual revenue and sizable impacts on the local economy. It is part of Entrepreneurs' Organization's larger survey Global Entrepreneur Indicator, which predicts the economic outlook of the global business landscape. It is a reflection of 2,851 entrepreneurs around the world whose businesses average $52.3 million in annual revenue and employ an average of 240 employees.
The survey found that 65 percent of Houston entrepreneurs surveyed added full-time employees in the previous six months and 67 percent expected to add employees in the next six months. It also found that 69 percent of those surveyed experienced an increase in net profits in the previous 6 months, compared to 59 percent of entrepreneurs surveyed globally.
