Urban Planners, Lawyers, Development Directors Join CNU Because of AirSage Giveaway
(PRWEB) September 23, 2014 -- The goal of reshaping and improving communities into dynamic, livable places requires a wide-range of professionals to turn the dream—of better housing, transportation choices and enjoyable public spaces—into reality.
The Congress of the New Urbanism (CNU) is at the forefront of this urban landscape metamorphosis, and AirSage®—a pioneer in digital population analytics—has partnered with CNU to make change happen.
AirSage, the largest provider of consumer travel trends and population movement intelligence in the U.S., promotes transportation solutions for more sustainable spaces. By awarding one CNU membership each month during 2014, AirSage is connecting professionals who are committed to reforming neighborhoods with other like-minded practitioners who are leading the charge.
Catherine Lee, an urban planner with the city of St. Petersburg, Fla. and the July winner, is one of those professionals. She works specifically with land development code amendments and rezoning that, ultimately, can change the way a community operates. “Right now I’m working with the Sustainable Urban Agriculture Commission to make our community more sustainable- bringing farming into the city- which will allow any property within our city to be used to grow food. The CNU membership will provide me with a source of information for innovative planning that will benefit my community.”
As an Environmental Attorney with Sedita, Campisano & Campisano, LLC in New Jersey, Cristin Mustillo has a unique position to implement change in the urban planning field through brownfield development. She is the August winner. “Community planning is an aspect of the redevelopment process that I'm very interested in, and so I have been actively seeking out educational resources. A CNU membership is a great opportunity for me to expand my knowledge of walkable, transit-oriented, and sustainable planning principles.”
Jennifer Stenhouse is the September winner and is the Director of Development with The Center for Planning Excellence (CPEX) in Louisiana. She oversees CPEX’s Annual Smart Growth Summit that promotes every aspect of smart growth including planning, design, public transit and connectivity. With a background in architecture and urban design, Jennifer wants other professionals to see the connection between land use and transportation planning as well as the need to coordinate the two. “This CNU membership will allow me access to a network of professionals who are also working towards these same goals, amazing resources and best practices. This will allow me to learn from what other communities are doing across the country to become more sustainable.”
Winners of this AirSage contest will have the cost of membership covered for one full year. Anyone can enter the drawing by simply filling out the entry form here: http://airsage.com/Giving-Back/CNU-Giveaway/. One simple entry puts you in the running for the entire year. If a winner is already a CNU member, the prize will extend their current membership.
