Additional Basic Airway Management Certification Courses to be Offered by Sleep Dentists
Plantation, FL (PRWEB) September 25, 2014 -- Changes in Florida laws now require dental practitioners to successfully complete a minimum of four hours of airway management training in order to work with sedated patients without anesthesia permits. In addition, any dentist with any type of anesthesia or sedation permit must take this course every four years beginning March 1, 2014. Sleep Dentists are proud to announce they will be offering additional Basic Airway Management Certification courses throughout the beginning of next year, within Florida, to help dentists comply with Florida law and safely perform sedation dental services.
The Basic Airway Management Certification courses will educate practitioners in proper airway management and ventilation techniques including basic airway assessment, removing airway obstructions, insertion of airway adjuncts, and mask ventilation. Upon successful completion, practitioners receive a Basic Airway Management Certification and are compliant with the new Florida statutes.
Registration is now open for the next round of course offerings in South Florida. In September there will be two course offerings. The first course offering will be on September 25, 2014 at the Hotel indigo in Jacksonville, Florida followed by a course on September 26, 2014 at Patterson Dental in Orlando, Florida. Sleep Dentists will follow those by offering two courses later in the year. The initial course will be held on December 12, 2014 at Patterson Dental in Tampa, Florida and the following will be on February 20, 2015 at Miami Winter Meeting & Dental Expo in Miami, Florida.
