Novera Fitness Brings Whole Body Cryotherapy to Golden, Colorado in a One-of-a-Kind Facility That Integrates Fitness Training With Athletic Recovery
Denver, Colorado (PRWEB) September 24, 2014 -- Novera Fitness, an athletic and recovery center based in Golden, is bringing the state-of-the-art cryosauna to Colorado. This recovery system has been in use by major athletes around the world for years, and sessions in the innovative cryosauna will now be available to the public here in Colorado. Novera will also be offering cryofacials as well as local cryo treatment.
“Colorado is a state filled with world class athletes, as well as those who take their outdoor play seriously,” said Novera Fitness co-founder Lucia Castricone. “That’s why we knew this was something we had to incorporate in our fitness and recovery center.”
Inside the cryosauna, the air temperature is lowered to extremely cold temperatures of below -200 degrees Fahrenheit, which cools a client's skin surface temperature by 30-50 degrees over a period of two to three minutes. The skin reacts to the cold and sends messages to the brain that acts as a stimulant to the regulatory functions of the body. It produces the scanning of all areas that may not be working to their fullest potential. The skin exposure to the extreme temperatures also triggers the release of anti-inflammatory molecules and endorphins.
The air inside the cryosauna cools the surface layer of the skin, but poses no freezing risk to the client. The cold air causes the blood to return to the core of the body, where is it charged with additional oxygen and nutrients. When the client steps out of the chamber, all of the now-supercharged blood rushes back through the body.
“The highly oxygenated blood is full of nutrients that will help sore muscles and injuries heal much more quickly,” said Castricone. “This gives someone a major edge in recovery because the faster they heal from sore muscles or an injury, the sooner they can get back to training.”
Following the treatment, the body releases endorphins, which are a natural anti-inflammatory and have pain-relieving properties. That’s one of the reasons this treatment has been shown to be especially effective for a variety of conditions, such as psychological stress, insomnia, rheumatism, muscle and joint pain, fibromyalgia, and psoriasis.
“Athletes have been using ice baths for years to help them recover after a big match,” said Castricone. “The cryosauna is like the ultimate ice bath with even better results.”
Along with positive effects on the muscles and bones, the cryosauna also improves the health and condition of the skin, improves the overall health and well-being of the client, increases the metabolic rate, and results in a marked increase of a positive mood following the treatment.
Novera also provides personal training and coaching sessions focusing on endurance training and functional strength training combined with recovery. Along with whole-body cryotherapy, they offer spot cryotherapy for aiding recovery from isolated injuries, cryofacialTM skin therapy, and NormaTec compression.
