Bourbon, Bluegrass and Barracudas in Duncan, Oklahoma this Weekend, September 25-27th, 2014
Duncan, OK (PRWEB) September 24, 2014 -- Duncan is no stranger to weekends full of experiences for all. Recognized in the top ten of the "Top Entertaining Cities in OK" and "Best Small City in OK" by Movoto.com, it is no suprise to see yet one more full schedule of activities for the coming weekend.
Beginning on Thursday evening, September 25th, Duncan Little Theatre presents two short one-act plays by James McClure "Laundry and Bourbon" and "Lone Star". The first play takes place on the front porch on a hot summer afternoon with three women talking about their men and gossiping about the secrets of small town life. "Lone Star" invites the audience to meet the men in their lives. It takes place behind a bar in Maynard, TX, where three men discuss their former exploits, their women, and their cars. Good humor never lapses, and all ends as breezily and happily as it began. Hodgson's Studio is the location of this performance at 814 W Walnut. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students, seniors and military.
Live music afficionados head to Duncan's Grove for the 3rd Annual Fall Bluegrass Festival September 25th, 26th, 27th. Performers featured this year are Cedar Hill,Tony Holt & the Wildwood Valley Boys, Triple L Band, From the Heartland, Southbound Mule, The Horn Family, Graystone Blue Grass and Steppin' Out. Tickets are free for Thursday's schedule, Friday or Saturday $20.00/ticket or the best deal, a Weekend Pass $35.00. Kids 12 and under free. Activities begin Tuesday with a 6:30pm Cobbler & Ice Cream social, Wednesday starts off at 2:00 pm with a Wahoo Tournament, 6:30 pm Group Gospel Singing and at 7:45 pm the Band Scramble. Thursday at 6:30 pm is Devotion with a 6:45 pm All Gospel Show. Friday's bright and early with a 8:00-10:00 am Pancake Breakfast and the music continuing at noon. The final day, Saturday, will have 10:30am guest band slots and at 12:00 pm the music will continue.
Car enthusiasts take the time to head to the 9th Annual "Smokin Tires & Puttin out Fire"s Car & Motorcycle Show at the Empire School 7 mi. southwest of Duncan, Ok on Saturday, September 27th. All proceeds benefit the Emire Fire Department. There will be a Brisket Dinner, Kids Zone, Live Entertainment featuring "Hijackers Hollow" Band and a Burnout Contest. Car Show Registration will be 8a.m. - 10 a.m. So grab the entire family for a full day of fun.
