The Institute for Information Governance (IIG) today announced the availability of its new online training portal, http://www.IGTraining.com. Information governance (IG) programs seek to minimize information risks and costs while maximizing its value and meeting compliance requirements.
The new website hosts the largest library of recorded information governance training videos in the world, and also offers IG white papers, reports, books, and live online classes. The classes are given by IG experts and delivered in HD video to desktops or mobile devices.
"With Big Data looming, organizations need tools and techniques to address legal, regulatory, and risk challenges. We are thrilled to provide the most robust IG training and education available,” said Robert Smallwood, Managing Director of the IG Institute. “We have put together the best and brightest instructors, the most complete and current content, and we deliver it on a cutting edge learning technology platform.”
The live, online classes and on-demand video courses are taught by IG industry leaders, including noted IG expert Barclay Blair, Executive Director of the IG Initiative; social media governance expert Dr. Patricia Franks, of San Jose State University; digital preservation experts Charles Dollar and Lori Ashley; and noted IG author and educator Robert Smallwood. Smallwood's seminal book, "Information Governance: Concepts, Strategies, and Best Practices" (Wiley, 2014) is the primary basis for the IG courses, although they are supplemented with updates and additional information.
Starting today, professionals can access the full library of information governance training resources. The Institute for Information Governance is pioneering a new path in IG training and education options for IT, legal, RIM, and compliance professionals. IIG is a spin-off of IMERGE Consulting, a leading enterprise content management (ECM) consultancy.
