Genesee County Purchasing Department announced today that it has joined the Michigan Inter-governmental Trade Network, a BidNet e-procurement system that provides vendors with an easier and more economical way to access and compete for local government bids.

The Michigan Inter-governmental Trade Network connects 1,537 departments from 137 local government agencies and provides a bid notification system that gives vendors instant access to Bids, RFP's, Quotes and Amendments online. Genesee County joined the Michigan Inter-governmental Trade Network on September 25th, 2014, providing its vendors with convenient access to bid information for Genesee County and all other participating agencies on the system.

Genesee County Purchasing Department invites all local vendors to join the Michigan Inter-governmental Trade Network and view its upcoming solicitations. Vendor benefits of registering on http://www.MITN.info include:

  •     24-hour access to local government opportunities
  •     Notification customized to the vendors’ products or services provided
  •     Reliable and timely delivery of notifications, addendums and documents

“There are many benefits to participation in the procurement network and sharing resources with other agencies”, said Cindy Carnes, Purchasing Manager. “Our vendors have centralized access to bid opportunities from multiple agencies, while we benefit from increased vendor competition and process automation.”

The network was developed and is powered by BidNet, an Albany, N.Y. company that manages 15 government purchasing groups nationwide through its e-procurement solution.

Vendors who provide goods and services can register for the system to receive bid opportunities from Genesee County and the system’s other local agencies. Vendors register online at http://www.MITN.info.
