On Saturday, October 4th at Hillsborough River State Park pool, women of all ages and fitness abilities can make a splash to do their part during Breast Cancer Awareness month – making sure all women have access to mammograms. Event sign-in begins at 3:30 p.m. with the 55-minute aqua exercise program, led by a certified WaterinMotion® team, and kicks-off at 4:30 p.m.
Registration for the event is required with a $20 donation to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Donations are accepted online at https://fundraise.nbcf.org/thonotosassa/events/wim-for-cure/e36810 or at the event.
Shapes Fitness for Women in Brandon and Wesley Chapel are organizing the event. Participants do not need to be a member of Shapes Fitness for Women. In fact, even men and children 12 and older can join in on the high energy, jump, twist and splash-fest.
Ann Gilbert, owner of the Shapes facilities in Brandon and Wesley Chapel, wanted to offer an opportunity to the community to support Breast Cancer Awareness through a non-traditional fundraising event for a great cause.
Gilbert is a popular speaker at numerous fitness industry conventions and a national trainer and director for WaterinMotion®.
Participants for the WaterinMotion® for the Cure event should bring water shoes and a towel. Prior to or following the event, attendees can enjoy beautiful Hillsborough River State Park’s grounds and playground.
