Greenberg Traurig Welcomes Christina Rogers as Chair of the Atlanta Real Estate Practice

The Atlanta office of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP has added Christina B. Rogers as a shareholder and chair of the office’s Real Estate Practice. Rogers joins Greenberg Traurig from the Atlanta office of McKenna Long & Aldridge, where she was a partner.

Rogers’ practice concentrates on the representation of institutional real estate investors, including pension fund advisors, real estate investment trusts and permanent and construction lenders and borrowers. She has extensive experience in acquisition, disposition, joint venture, financing and leasing transactions involving multifamily residential, office, industrial and retail properties. Along with leading the Atlanta Real Estate Practice, Rogers will collaborate with other practice groups, including Corporate & Securities and Commercial Lending.

“Greenberg Traurig’s national Real Estate Practice is very strong and widely-recognized, and we had been searching for quite some time for an equally strong attorney to lead our Atlanta Real Estate Practice,” said Ted Blum, Co-Managing Shareholder of Greenberg Traurig’s Atlanta office. “Working in tandem with leaders in our national Real Estate Practice, we conducted a careful search for an attorney whose knowledge and skillset in the industry would complement and enhance the firm’s strong real estate practice. Christina, with more than two decades of experience handling complex deals, was clearly the perfect candidate to fill this role.”

“Greenberg Traurig has a reputation of being a real force in real estate nationwide,” said Rogers. “I am thrilled to join the firm as we focus on growing the real estate practice in Atlanta.”

Corey E. Light, Co-Chair of the firm’s Global Real Estate Practice and Shareholder in Chicago added, “Christina is an accomplished practitioner that is respected and well recognized in the industry. She will play a pivotal role in the growth of the Atlanta office. We are delighted to welcome Christina to our team.”

Rogers is a member of the Executive Committee of the Real Estate Property Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia and Commercial Real Estate Women, among other designations. She is listed in Best Lawyers in America (2014) and has been ranked as a leading individual in real estate in the US Legal 500 since 2013. Additionally, she serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Cool Girls, Inc., a non-profit organization that mentors and supports girls in hopes of breaking the cycles of poverty, low self-esteem and teen pregnancy. Rogers is a graduate of Duke University and the University of Virginia’s School of Law.

Greenberg Traurig’s Real Estate Practice spans 40 years of delivering multidisciplinary legal services for property investment, development and management, as well as real estate finance. The group received the Award for Excellence in Real Estate from Chambers and Partners in 2013 and 2010 and was named a Real Estate Practice Group of the Year by Law360, through 2013.
