ComFreight is Doing Freight Matching Differently and Has a New Take on the Old Load Boards

Share Article

ComFreight is changing the way freight and logistics companies are connecting online and the model for the old standby load boards, offering an open community of logistics companies, direct shippers, and freight carriers that is mobile friendly and helps users grow at their own pace.

Load Boards have been a standby of commercial freight shipping for more almost 20 years, helping to connect available freight shipments via online listings to trucking companies and logistics companies looking to fill their empty trucks. ComFreight is updating the load board to a new, lower cost and mobile friendly future.

ComFreight is focusing on the commercial truck load and partial freight load market. The freight marketplace boasts more than 150,000 daily available freight shipments up for grabs on a daily basis. Carriers and Brokers are able to sign up for a 15 day trial with a valid credit card and are not locked into any contracts of any kind. ComFreight also provides receipts to users for business expenses and user history so users can see past loads they have bid on or responded to.

ComFreight users are able to find loads on almost every lane due to their extremely good coverage. Subscribing broker users and free direct shipper users who post loads can also share their load details page with anyone else in their network to invite them to bid or call on their loads.

The freight marketplace is very open and free flowing. You won't find any hidden fees or additional charges here and ComFreight doesn't take 15-20% of a final bid on any shipment on their site. Nearly 80% of the available loads are also open to direct calling and there is a quick bid option for users who just want to submit a rate on a load via the web app.

Because ComFreight works as a web app users can use the site from any smart phone, tablet or computer just the same, with no software to download or keep updated and no special permissions required. Users are able to configure specific email alerts for freight out of specific areas and ComFreight has rolled several separate processes from traditional load boards into a single process, saving its users even more time.

ComFreight is continuing to grow its commercial shipper user base as it expands its platform going into the fourth quarter of 2014. When many load boards are asking for $100 or more per month for what amounts to a simple listing service, many are making the switch in order to save money and improve time spent looking for business online for their trucking companies. ComFreight is also the only free shipper load board for open freight quotes.

Shippers have the added benefit of allowing carriers to compete for their freight in auction style format. Shippers are able to save more money on truck load quotes and freight quotes in this manner. All data on bidders is sent directly to the shipper who posted the load via alerts to their phone and email allowing shippers multiple options at various price points.

A new user ranking and review system is in the works as ComFreight ramps up for the rest of 2014. More details to come as the expanding freight marketplace and logistics app continues to grow and expand its capabilities and user base.
